An Unexpected Party
w00t fir5t p0st!!1!!

I stand. Stopped dead at my feet. Ready to begin. Filled with explanation but without introduction. Here I go.

I've recently decided to start a blog named Back Book Reviews (or BBR if you're an acronym junkie). The theme behind this blog is intended to review video and computer games that are hardly known and determine weather or not they would be worth your time. My hope is that through these reviews, other gamers and myself will have a more interesting library of games to play that contain quality titles and new concepts. For those who plan to read the blog, I appreciate feedback an any of the games that I review that you have played.

Like any system of evaluation, it is easy to find its flaws and therefore I will not be using either the 10-point or 5-point system of rating. I feel the 10-point system carries redundancies in the lower numbers (Games with a rating below 5 tend not to simply marked as "bad"), while the 5-point system often makes games that are likely worth someone's time seem underrated (X-Play's rating of Sonic and the Secret Rings, for example). For the while until I find a stronger one, I will be using a modified letter-grade system. It bears strong similarities to the 10-point scale, so as stated before, will likely be subject to change.
A  - Game exceeds higher expectations of review. The title is fun to play with replay value and shows evidence that polish was added by the developer(s). Sounds and Music (this includes voice acting, if it is an aspect of the game) are interesting to listen to and are not painful on the ear. Graphics show very strong usage of the technology and are very high in detail while easy on the eye. No sign of bugs or broken gameplay.
B  - Game meets higher expectations of review. Gameplay is very enjoyable and often has aspects of replayability. Certain sounds or soundtrack elements (including voice acting) are catchy to listen to and graphics are impressive to look at. Small issues or easily bearable bugs may be evident.
C+  - Game meets average expectations for review. Gameplay is of strong quality and is not buggy to a point of being broken. Sounds are not an issue (if voice acting exists, it may be "cheesy" in certain areas"). Music is of good quality, but not memorable. Graphics are at normal quality levels for the platform's capabilities. Gameplay may be buggy or difficult for reasons outside of difficulty level.
C  - A mixed ground between C+ and C-
C-  - Game barely meets average expectations of review. Gameplay is buggy in many areas and frustrating to play. Sounds are bothersome to the ear and music is out of place, or bothersome as well. Graphics could be of higher quality and/or are unpleasing to the eye. The title shows sloppy work on the developer's behalf.
F  - Game is not playable in its current state. Gameplay is broken or too difficult to play to the point of being impossible from human standards. Graphics are not easy to look at or are in some cases preventing the game from being played. Sounds and music are awkward to listen to. Bugs are very apparent and add noticeable adjustments to gameplay.

I  - Game has not yet released, or more time would be needed to review the title. This will mostly be for games played in beta or prerelease demos.

Expect my first review before Thursday, August 14th. Until then, I must begin reviewing NeoSteam.
